Did you every think about the fact that you could be harming and affecting the disruption of the environment when you don’t recycle water bottles and other supplies? Bottled water shouldn’t be sold at ASW. First of all, it harms and causes issues to the environment we live in. Secondly, teens and adults don’t realize how important bottled water is. Lastly, bottled water shouldn’t be sold because it is very expensive to pay for. This is why we should stop selling bottled water, now.
There are many reasons why bottled water shouldn’t be sold at ASW. Thronson explained that about 1.5 million barrels of petroleum are used to provide plastic water bottles in the Unites States each year. He explained that “That’s enough time to supply 250,000 homes with electricity for a year or 100,00 cars with gasoline for a year.” Too much of petroleum is used over stuff that is not really necessary used for the environment. If people would stop using petroleum for producing plastic water bottles, it would be used for electricity and providing heat to families and people who are poor or homeless. Secondly, the CRI tracks the total number of wasted beverage cans and plastic bottles that go into U.S. landfills with a minute-by-minute count. It results that more than 64 billion wasted cans and bottles. Thirdly, only about 14 percent of single- serving plastic water bottles are recycled, Jennifer Gitliz says. Therefore, about 86 percent of water bottles sold are wasted: landfilled, incinerated, or littered.
On the other hand, it might be discussed that tap water can cause harmful problems and we should continue drinking our regular bottled water. According to an article from the water association, people should take in consideration to drink bottled water because it has a refreshing taste, it's reliable, it has a quite high results in quality, contains zero calories and addictive, and proves convenience. For those who want to eliminate or moderate calories, sugar, caffeine, artificial flavors or colors, and other ingredients from their diet, choosing bottled water is the right decision.
To conclude, there are both many beneficial and risk for bottled water, in my opinion-bottled water shouldn’t be sold at ASW, or even in stores. It results that it provides damage and harmful causes in our environment, we waste lots of petroleum for some unnecessary causes, and lastly it results that many people don’t even take in consideration to finishing their bottled waters. Through all the research and articles I have read, plastic water bottles should be reduced in quantity and waste less petroleum.
